Twopointeight
INFO
Swedens best kept secret and alternative punkrock band, Twopointeight, are back with a brand new release, Twopointeight II. With their own blend of punk and rock they have created their own style in a genre where many other bands end up sounding like the band before.
Sprung from a collective of swedish teenagers forming bands with each other back and forth during the late 90´s, Twopointeight finally found it´s own line-up in 2003. The self-titled debut album was recorded the following spring but wasn´t released until May 2005. Recorded in five days and produced by Randy´s Johan Gustavsson, it was well received and the opening track Redeye got plenty of exposure throughout scandinavia, both on radio and TV.
Touring followed, and Twopointeight saw themselves playing alongside punkrock greats such as Bad Religion and Millencolin on their home turf, as well as opening for Flogging Molly on their Green 17 US tour of 2007 and playing shows throughout Europe with Bombshell Rocks, Dead To Me and Street Dogs.
Hailed by many of their peers as a unique band and great live act, Twopointeight release their second album, simply dubbed "TWOPOINTEIGHT II" on I Scream Records in 2011. The album is compiled from three different recording sessions during 2009 and 2010 and again, the band worked with Johan Gustavsson in the legendary Studio Gröndahl, feeling he´d done such a great job the first time around. The sound has evolved to something a bit bigger and a little heavier. Gritty guitars and big drums. Where their first record had some sort of same tempo and vibe throughout the whole 40 minutes, Twopointeight deliberately allowed the "slow stuff to get real slow and the fast stuff to go fast this time".
You do not want to miss this band or their new album.
